Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Rant ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Rant. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Content Policy

Rant is committed to free expression. We allow controversial opinions, debate, criticism, satire, and vulgar language. However, the following content is strictly prohibited:

  • Content that incites, threatens, or encourages real-world violence against specific individuals or groups
  • Content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide
  • Targeted harassment or sustained campaigns of abuse directed at specific individuals
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexual content involving minors
  • Doxxing — publishing private personal information (addresses, phone numbers, financial info) without consent
  • Content that constitutes illegal discrimination based on protected characteristics under applicable law
  • Spam, coordinated inauthentic behavior, or impersonation of another person or entity
  • Content that violates applicable laws, including copyright and defamation law

We do not prohibit: strong opinions, profanity, political speech, criticism of public figures, satire, or debate on controversial topics. We believe in your right to say what you actually think.

5. User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you post on Rant. By posting content, you grant Rant a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform and in connection with our services. You represent that you have all necessary rights to grant this license.

6. Intellectual Property

The Rant name, logo, design, and software are owned by Rant and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks or copy our platform design without express written permission.

7. Rant Pro Subscription

Rant Pro is a paid subscription service. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis. You may cancel at any time; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. We reserve the right to modify Pro features or pricing with 30 days notice.

8. Live Debates

Live audio debates are a real-time feature of the Platform. You consent to the real-time transmission of your audio to other participants and viewers. Debate sessions may be recorded or stored. All content policies apply to live debates. We reserve the right to terminate a debate session that violates these Terms.

9. DMCA & Copyright

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on Rant infringes your copyright, please contact us with: (1) identification of the copyrighted work, (2) identification of the infringing material, (3) your contact information, and (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized. We will process valid DMCA notices promptly.

10. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES. RANT DOES NOT ENDORSE ANY USER-GENERATED CONTENT AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF CONTENT POSTED BY USERS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RANT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
